Bori बोम्बर (Bomber) Sneakers

Textured sneakers in a coarse tan basket weave across the toe, vamp, quarters and heel, with black leather bands and a half round fan on each quarter, pinked at the edge and outlined in a red cord running stitch worked straight into the fabric. Bori takes its name from the sack. The whole shell is a coarse open weave with the fibre ends still standing proud of the surface, and everything laid over it is deliberate: black leather cut with pinked sawtooth edges, ivory saddle stitching, and a red cord run straight through the fabric to trace each shape. It is the only pair in the line that carries its colour in thread rather than in leather. Handcrafted in India, made to order.

• Upper: coarse natural tan jute across the toe, vamp, both quarters, the heel counter, the tongue and the lace panel, roughly three quarters of the exterior, in an open basket weave with visible loose fibre
• Black pebble grain leather appliqué and binding: the full collar topline, the two lace panel bands, a half round fan on each quarter, a centre back band, a pinked band across the upper heel, and pointed outline pieces on the vamp
• Red heavy twisted cord worked as a running stitch directly into the weave, following the appliqué lines along both quarters, the heel, the vamp and the tongue edge
• Ivory saddle stitching on every black leather piece
• Lace-up through punched holes with no metal eyelets, on black flat woven laces
• Bright red leather footbed and interior sidewall, blind embossed at the heel

Care: Brush the weave gently with a soft dry brush along the grain. Wipe the leather pieces with a dry cloth, keep away from excess moisture, and store in a cool, dry place.
