Mules
A mule is a shoe with the back cut away, so it goes on like a slipper and reads like a shoe. Every pair here is flat, not heeled, built on leather or handwoven cloth with a hand-drawn or hair-on surface. Backless shoes that hold their shape.

Leather mules and mule shoes
Leather mules hold their shape where a fabric slipper collapses. These are cut from the same hides as our closed shoes, with the quarters removed and the collar bound so the edge does not roll. Mule shoes worn this way last seasons, not months.
Flat mules for women
Every women's pair here is flat. Mules for women usually arrive on a block or kitten heel; ours sit on a thin leather sole with a pointed toe, in hand-embroidered satin or hair-on hide. Flat mules are the ones that survive a full wedding day rather than the first hour.
Animal print, ethnic and designer mules
The surface is where these separate. Leopard, zebra, python and giraffe run in real hair-on hide. Ikat brings a handwoven heritage panel. The rest carry hand-drawn artwork, from eyes and lotus to poppies. Designer mules at this level are drawn once and never repeated as a print run.
