The Enchanted Lillies Cone Mules Women

Green shoes for women in printed satin, one large lily embroidered face on across the vamp with a bud beside it, and a stamen fan of green seed beads couched over the petals and tipped in red. Green flats cut backless on a long pointed toe, green flats for women coral lined, with one aged gold stud on each outer quarter.

The lily is shown face on rather than in profile, open to its full width across the vamp, with a single closed bud set beside it on the same stem. From the centre of the bloom a fan of stamens rises in couched green seed beads, each strand tipped in red, and it is the heaviest beadwork in the collection by a wide margin. Handcrafted in India, made to order.

• Upper: printed silk satin in deep bottle green with a pale chevron repeat, over the whole vamp, toe, quarters and topline
• Hand embroidery across the vamp: one large lily in open bloom shown face on, with a single closed bud alongside on a shared stem and leaves worked in fine chain and stem stitch
• Beadwork: a stamen fan of opaque green cylindrical seed beads couched in roughly eight to ten strands per shoe, in the order of 150 to 200 beads, each strand tipped in red. The heaviest beading of the five
• Worked in satin stitch and long and short shading, standing raised above the fabric rather than flush
• Backless mule, slip-on with no lace, buckle, strap or elastic

• Coral red leather lining and footbed, bound at the heel opening, with a blind embossed crest at the heel seat

Care: Brush the embroidery gently along the direction of the thread with a soft dry brush. Take particular care around the beaded stamens. Keep the satin away from moisture, do not machine wash, and store in a cool, dry place.
