Riot बोम्बर (Bomber) Sneakers

Denim shoes cut from three distinct washes of indigo, dark across the toe cap and eyestay, medium through the main quarter, pale washed along the collar and a let in patch at the rear. Jeans sneakers with exposed zip chain stitched flat along the quarter seams, raw frayed panel edges held down in ecru topstitching, and sneakers for casual wear on one unisex last.

Riot is the only pair in the line built from cloth that was already worn before it became a shoe. Three washes of the same denim are pieced together rather than dyed to match, the panel edges are left raw and frayed on purpose, and a length of zip chain runs the seams with no slider and no pull, so it fastens nothing. Handcrafted in India, made to order.

Details:

• Upper: three distinct washes of cotton denim pieced together. Dark indigo on the toe cap, forward vamp wings, eyestay, lace facing, tongue, rear quarter, heel counter and the appliqued motif panel on each quarter
• Medium indigo denim across the main quarter panel and the lower forefoot sides, the single largest continuous field on the shoe
• Pale washed indigo denim along the throat and collar either side of the tongue, as a let in patch at the rear quarter and a wedge on the outer forefoot, faded enough to show the white weft through the twill
• Exposed metal zip chain applied as trim along the quarter seams and both sides of the vamp, with no slider and no pull
• Raw frayed denim edges left exposed and held down in ecru contrast topstitching
• Black smooth leather binding rolled around the full collar topline and the tongue opening
• Lace-up through punched holes with no metal eyelets
• Three silver rivets per shoe, plain with fine radial knurling and no lettering
• Bright red lining at the collar over a mid brown footbed, on a moulded brown unit sole

Care: Brush the denim gently with a soft dry brush. Wipe the leather binding with a dry cloth, keep away from excess moisture, do not machine wash, and store in a cool, dry place.
